Arshama Ziya Haque

Arshama Ziya Haque hails from the hills of Darjeeling, West Bengal. She completed her education at Loreto Convent School Darjeeling and has recently graduated from University of Calcutta with Bsc Hons in Microbiology and is looking forward to enroll herself in higher education to pursue Master's in the same subject.
Ziya has always been a diligent individual which got her the position of an office bearer at Loreto. She participated in social service programs at Missionaries of Charity and Hayden Hall in Darjeeling, as well as being an active member of various clubs including the Leadership Training Services, photography club, library squad, and Environment club.

Ziya has a strong interest in sustainability and minimalism, which prompted her to create an online thrift store on Instagram called @the_trouvaille_thrift. As a young entrepreneur, she has completed over 300 orders within a short period of time. She believes that development should start with the underprivileged and marginalized communities. So as a small gesture, a part of her profit goes to charities that aim to support the underprivileged muslim communities.

In a world with a lot of religious tension, she has found solace in Islam. Her keen interest in learning about Islam has helped her represent her faith during times of Islamophobia. Ziya is determined to improve herself and develop skills to support Muslim youth, particularly in the academic field where enrollment rates are low.
