Mehnaza Rashid has completed her masters in English literature from Aligarh Muslim University. She’s currently earning her diploma in Teach English from Moulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. An active participant in various social organisations such as J&K Youth Empowerment Service, SOCH… beyond the imagination and the Human Welfare Voluntary Organisation, Mehnaza got an opportunity to teach underprivileged students, address women-related issues, and raise mental health awareness in her community. This gave her access to the untold stories and experiences of people, which further aided her in overcoming obstacles in her own life. While everyone is working for their dream jobs, buying a new house, getting married, and stuff like that, she wishes to carry on with her mission of helping people along with her studies. She is also passionate about gender equality activism and women empowerment. She is currently employed as a gender fellow at the Human Welfare Voluntary Organisation, a non-governmental, non-political voluntary developmental organisation in J&K. She believes that in order to achieve gender equity, we must make our education system gender-sensitive, empower and educate women, bust gender myths, etc. She enjoys reading literature and sharing her ideas.
