Dr. Almas Shamim

Dr. Almas Shamim is a medical doctor and public health professional from Port Blair, currently based in New Delhi. Her 8+ years of professional experience have mostly been with the Ministry of Health, GoI, supporting in program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, partnerships and private sector engagement in India’s national health programmes on immunization and tuberculosis elimination. She has also been associated with international development organizations such as WHO, International Union Against TB and Lung Diseases (The Union), Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), and is currently working as a senior consultant in a Fortune 500 MNC as part of their Middle East and Africa practice. With a deep interest in the domain of gender and equity in health, she has contributed articles to TARSHI’s digital magazine- In Plainspeak, and Andaman Chronicle, an A&N based news outlet. In her free time, Almas loves to read and spend time with her husband and cats.
