Hina Lateef Nizami

Hina is currently a postdoctoral research scientist at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, a non-profit biomedical research institute in USA, where she works on diabetes and heart disease.
She pursued bachelor’s in pharmacy at Jamia Hamdard (New Delhi), followed by master’s in pharmacology from NIPER SAS Nagar (Punjab). For her PhD at THSTI (Faridabad), she studied how vitamin D deficiency alone can cause conditions similar to diabetes and heart failure. Hina had a post-PhD stint in the Communication and Public Engagement team at the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance, a biomedical research funding organisation in India, where she managed external communications and was a mentor in the science communication workshops. In her free time, she loves cooking, reading, and mindless internet browsing!
Hina is happy to pay forward to the community through LedBy, and is open to chat about careers in science, especially biomedical research on the lab bench and beyond.
