Uzma Shakra

Since her school days, Uzma was inclined towards social work and volunteered with the Indian Development Foundation and Help Age India. Upliftment of the disadvantaged is an issue close to her heart. She pursued graduation in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University, taking up leadership positions and extra-curricular activities along with academics. She is an avid reader with an interest in fiction, poetry, history, and international relations. She has worked with Child Rights and You to empower underprivileged children. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Development Studies at Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She aims to integrate her knowledge of economics and development studies to formulate intersectional public policies to tackle poverty, inequality, and injustice. She truly believes in creating meaningful opportunities for the marginalized to create an inclusive, equal, and sustainable society for all.
